Logistics

All the talks are in Room XXX in the Teaching Building on campus, Great Bay University/大湾区大学 (address: Da Xue Lu 16, Song Shan Hu, Dongguan, Guangdong, China/东莞市松山湖大学路16号).

We have reserved rooms for all parcipants at Songhu Yingbinli Hotel/松湖迎宾里 (address: Boheng Er Lu 1 Hao, Song Shan Hu, Dongguan, Guangdong, China/东莞市松山湖博恒二路1号).

The hotel is about 2km from campus (10 mins by car, 30 mins by talk).

Transportation

You may reach Dongguan by flight or high-speed rail.

By Rail/高铁

There are several high-speed rail stations nearby and the most covenient options are Humen Railway Station/虎门站, Dongguannan Railway Station/东莞南站 and Shenzhenbei Railway Station/深圳北站.

There are no direct connections by bus/metro from the rail stations to the hotel/campus and we recommend taking a taxi (of course you are welcome to adventure with the public transport if you want).

By Air/飞机

There are three major airports nearby:

1. Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport/深圳宝安机场
2. Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport/广州白云机场
3. Hong Kong International Airport/香港国际机场

Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport/深圳宝安机场 is the closest (1h ride). Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport/广州白云机场 (1h 45min ride) and Hong Kong International Airport/香港国际机场 have more international flights.

• From Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport/深圳宝安机场
  After arriving at Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport:
  • You can get a ride to hotel/campus by taxi at Exit Gate 13 and by e-ride hailing service at Exit Gate 15. (recommended)
  • You can also take a bus at Exit Gate 17 on the second floor to Songshan Lake Terminal, and then take a taxi.
  • You can also go to B1 floor and take the subway to Bitou Station/碧头站 at the border of Shenzhen/Dongguan, then take a taxi (not recommended).
• From Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport/广州白云机场
  After arriving at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport:
  • You can take a taxi directly to hotel/campus and it is about 1h 45 mins. (recommended)
  • You can go to Terminal 1, Area A: Outside gates A3-A5 (self-service ticket machines inside gates A4 and A10), take a bus to Songshan Lake Terminal, and then take a taxi.
  • You can take a bus outside Gate B10-B13 of Terminal 1 (self-service ticket machines inside Gate B5 and B12) to Songshan Lake Terminal, and then take a taxi.
  • You can go to T2 Terminal: Transportation Center West Bus Station (self-service ticket machine for boarding), take a bus to Songshan Lake Terminal, and then take a taxi.
• From Hong Kong International Airport/香港国际机场
  After arriving at Hong Kong International Airport:
  • You can go to the Hong Kong Bus airport ticket counter: T1 terminal, L5 floor lobby, exit A, turn left to the MO2 counter, inquire about the bus to Songshan Lake, then purchase a ticket and take the bus to Songshan Lake terminal, and then take a taxi to campus/hotel.
  • You can go to the ticket counters at the (Hong Kong Business Bus) airport: T1 terminal A17-18 and MO4 counters, inquire about the bus to Songshan Lake, then purchase tickets and take the bus to Songshan Lake terminal, and then take a taxi.

Practical Info

The December weather in Dongguan is roughly 10 - 18 degrees in Celsius, not much rain. You may check the most up-to-date weather info before travel and pack accordingly.
